Membership Policies
Welcome to Laurimar Kids Learn to Swim! We are a private, family owned and operated swim school that will provide your child with high quality teaching in a supportive environment. Following are our Membership Policies which you should read before signing our Enrolment Form.
1. New Enrolments
Our enrolment form includes a declaration which you are asked to sign to acknowledge that you have read our membership policy, and will abide by our policies. We are a private facility and can only accept children into our pool after the enrolment form has been completed.
Your child will be placed into a class and will attend on the dame day and time each week. A position in the class is only secured when it is paid in advance, including the membership fee, using one of the payment options set out below. Payment in advance guarantees your child’s position in the allocated class each week. We do not hold places without payment or accept part payments. Enrolment is ongoing until notice of cancellation is given, the notice period required is 2 weeks. Membership and lessons are not transferable to other people, including family members, and cannot be refunded or credited unless Laurimar Kids is found to be at fault.
Laurimar Kids operates all year round, except for: public holidays, and a 2-week period over the Christmas break. All closures will be prior notified and lessons will not be charged for these times, therefore make up lessons are not required.
Laurimar Kids reserves the right to consolidate/change class times where the enrolment numbers are low. If this occurs, we will work with you to find another suitable time.
Whilst we try as hard as possible to provide consistent teachers, this Isn’t always possible, sometimes our teachers get sick and need holidays too. Rest assured, all our teachers are awesome, and we only use a small team of trusted teachers! Please understand also that we can’t always accommodate specific teacher requests.
2. Lesson Fees/Payment System
Lesson fees are payable in advance and only current, paid members can attend classes. A position in a class is not held without payment. Group Lessons: $23.50 /lesson. We offer a sibling discount for the 3rd child in the family of 50%. Private 1 on 1 lessons are $66.
Direct Debit is a month-by-month payment option. Payments at Laurimar Kids are processed on the First Business Day of each month
A Direct Debit form must be completed and returned upon enrolment. .Please note any additional fees that are indicated on the form, including fees for declined debits which are charged by Ezidebit.
The Direct Debit amounts payable may differ depending on how many lessons there are in the period you are being charged for. For example, if charged monthly there may be three (Public Holidays) four or five lessons in that month.
Membership is ongoing and debits will continue until a completed cancellation form is received by Laurimar Kids. 2 weeks’ notice is required for cancellation, partial months left will not be refunded.
When commencing lessons mid-month, you will be charged upfront for the remaining lessons in the month to align with the Direct Debit processing dates, along with the membership fee.
Failed Direct Debit payments must be paid for prior to the next scheduled lesson. Please note that failed payments will incur an admin fee charged by Ezidebit (direct debit provider)
If your Direct Debit payment fails more than three (3) times in a row, Laurimar Kids reserves the right to suspend Direct Debit payments and request upfront payments.
12 Week Pre-Payment provides you the option to pay in full for lessons in 12-week blocks for those who prefer this over the direct debit option.
Payments are accepted by cash, card, or bank transfers. Part payments are not accepted.
Ongoing payments are due two (2) weeks prior to the expiry of the 12-week package. If you don’t wish to continue at this point, please advise us of this at week 10 so that we can open up your spot to another waiting child.
Positions cannot be guaranteed after the expiration of a 12week block without full payment.
3. Changes to Lesson Fees
We try to keep our fees as low as possible whilst maintaining the highest standards. However, as costs increase, Laurimar Kids Learn to Swim reserves the right to occasionally adjust our fee schedule. You will be given a minimum of 14 days’ notice if this is to occur.
4. Make Up Lessons There is a limit of one (1) make-up lesson per 31 days for notified absences. Make-up lessons are valid for 60 days only from the date that the notified lesson was missed. Unused lessons after this time will be forfeited. We must be notified of absence, preferably via Phone Message, by no later than 2 hours prior to the start of the class. When notice is provided within this timeframe you are eligible for a make-up lesson. If notice is not provided within the required timeframe you would not be eligible for the makeup lesson.
Notifications of absence are can be made by phone message, (please include Childs Name, Day and Time they Swim) however, you may also notify of absences via Email, Facebook Messenger or, in person at the Centre,
Cancellation of membership will result in the forfeiture of any unused make-up lessons and make up lessons cannot be added to the end of a paid period. Make up lessons cannot be transferred, used to extend lessons past your ‘paid to’ date, or to reduce a payment amount.
Make-up lessons are subject to availability and we cannot guarantee specific teachers, days or times. Make up lessons are used where we have class vacancies, we do not overbook classes.
Make up classes cannot be booked more than 7 days in advance.
5. Cancellations
All cancellations require two (2) weeks’ written notice. NO PAID FEES ARE REFUNDABLE.
Direct Debit payment cancellations require a notice of two (2) weeks prior to the end of the month or the scheduled Direct Debit date.
12 Week Pre-Payment cancellations require two (2) weeks’ notice prior to the end of the 12-week block (at lesson number 10).
If two (2) consecutive classes are missed and there has been no communication from the family, Laurimar Kids reserves the right to cancel the membership and you will not be entitled to a refund.
Membership Cancellations by Laurimar Kids Learn to Swim
We reserve the right to cancel your membership if you do not follow the set policies or if you or your children conduct themselves inappropriately at our swimming school. We have a zero-tolerance policy on abuse to our staff, if this occurs you will be asked to leave.
6. Swim Attire
Swim nappies are MANDATORY for hygiene reasons as faecal incidents can result in pool closure which results in significant costs to us. Any child who requires nappies normally must wear a swim nappy for lessons. We prefer reusable swim nappies rather than disposables as they are kinder to our pool filters! Swimming caps are recommended to be worn to ensure fewer distractions for your child and for pool hygiene, and help to keep hair drier in the winter months. It is recommended that parents/carers wear a rash vest in the water. This assists the child to gain independence through reaching for and holding the shirt instead of the parent having to always lift and hold the child.
7. Photo/Video Policy
At Laurimar Kids, we welcome you capturing the special moments of your child on camera or video; however, the privacy of others must also be respected. Capturing still or video footage is conditional upon the following:
If you capture an image or private conversation of another child or individual, you must have all relevant individuals (or their parents) consent to use, publish, or broadcast images or video footage.
Under NO circumstances are cameras or mobile phones to be used in change room areas or showers.
You agree to comply with any request by Laurimar Kids staff to discontinue use of your camera, mobile phone or video, and to delete requested images or footage, where our staff reasonably consider that someone’s privacy may be breached.
Laurimar Kids may take photos and videos to use for social media and other marketing purposes, and may also use photos or videos posted onto social media at our discretion. We will always seek your permission prior to doing this, it is your right to refuse if you don’t wish for this to occur.
